Take a Break and...Focus

Focus

Dear Kindred Spirits,

If you’ve found it harder to focus these days, you are certainly not alone. As of 2015, the average human attention span has decreased to 8.25 seconds, shorter than the attention span of a goldfish. In an era where countless demands compete for our attention, the ability to concentrate on what truly matters is more crucial than ever.

At LionTree, we recognize that focus is the cornerstone of productivity and innovation. It's about channeling our energy and resources towards our most important goals, cutting through the noise to achieve clarity and purpose. Whether we’re navigating complex projects, fostering meaningful relationships, or pursuing personal growth, maintaining focus enables us to create lasting impact.

How do we prioritize tasks in a world that constantly splits our attention? How can we cultivate a mindset that embraces focused work and sustained effort?

We must also examine the benefits of focus beyond productivity. By working on being fully present in our daily interactions, we can deepen our interpersonal connections, enrich our in-person experiences, and lead more fulfilling, interconnected lives. Focus is not just about what we do, but how we do it — bringing intention and commitment to every aspect of our day.

For now, let’s Take a Break and challenge ourselves to identify what truly deserves our attention. Let’s commit to learning how to create spaces, both physical and mental, that support our ability to concentrate and thrive.
