Take a Break and...Find Your Vision

Vision

Dear Kindred Spirits,

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today is typically reserved for matters of the heart, but — we’d like to shift this week’s conversation to our eyes. Let’s talk about vision.

While our physical vision only requires an annual doctor’s visit to stay healthy, our inner vision requires constant work and self-correction.

As we step into the unfolding chapters of 2024, our collective gaze should be fixed on the horizon of possibilities that lie ahead. “Vision" is not just about foreseeing the future; it's about shaping it with intention, clarity, and purpose.

At LionTree, it's about seeing the potential of AI to transform industries, recognizing the evolving narratives in sports and media, and envisioning a future where technology and humanity converge in harmony, even if creating that harmony requires us to become comfortable with dissonance. We believe that true vision extends beyond just noticing trends, it's a deep dive into how these changes impact us on a personal and community level.

Our vision for 2024 transcends the analytical and the technological. It's rooted in the values of empathy, purpose, and community. It's about creating a future that aligns with our deepest values, where every innovation and shift contributes to building better systems for society at large.

As we journey through this year, let's embrace "vision" not just as a concept but as a call to action. Let's use our collective insights and values to shape a world we're proud to be part of.

For now, take a moment to pause, Take a Break, and envision the future we're creating together.

At LionTree

We recently released the second and final part of our yearly outlook series, titled “The 2024 Vision.” In the episode, activist, author, and humanitarian Caryl Stern hosts discussions with fellow LionTree leaders to uncover how the firm integrates purpose into the fabric of our decision-making.

First up, Rosie Kurmaniak details the cyclical nature of M&A, and how it is manifesting itself in the firm’s business; then, Avi Sutton discusses the importance of “flow” - as referenced in his recent letter co-authored by colleague Alex Michael - and the attributes necessary to obtain that friction-less state; Finally, Aviva Roumani and “Listen on Purpose” co-host Rachel Kraus outline how they’re fostering healing conversations in the face of global turbulence and ongoing changes in the business environment.
