Take a Break and...Find Yourself
Find Yourself
Dear Kindred Readers,
As the conversation around “founder mode” gains momentum, we wanted to take a closer look at what it truly means to find yourself as a leader. In an environment where market trends and external pressures can cloud decision-making, understanding and trusting your own approach can be far more valuable than simply following established paths. We’ve found that the most effective leaders — and the most successful businesses — often emerge when they trust their instincts and carve out their own distinct strategies.
At LionTree, we believe that finding yourself, whether as a leader or as an organization, is about more than just growth metrics. It’s about staying anchored in what makes you unique and leveraging that as a competitive advantage. Moreover, it’s about defining your own strategic rules, identifying your strengths, and staying deeply engaged with the factors that move the needle.
The idea of “finding yourself” is an ongoing process, not a one-time achievement. For example, a McKinsey study found that companies led by “self-aware, resilient leaders” are 1.8 times more likely to outperform their peers in terms of shareholder value creation.
For now, let’s Take a Break to reconnect with ourselves, trusting that our unique vision is not only our differentiator but also a key driver of long-term success.
